The LEFB slider features a load mounting platform above a belt drive. A flexible seal band permits platform travel while preventing foreign matter from entering the drive. Slider advantages include a low profile height and shorter length than a rod with equivalent stroke. Belt drives allow longer strokes and higher speeds than ball screw drives. The LEFB motor can be top or bottom mounted. This model is fitted with an AC servo motor with incremental or absolute encoder. Optional drivers include pulse input and various communication protocols including Ethernet.
The LEFB is available in a motorless type, permitting the mounting of an AC servo motor other than the standard chosen by SMC. Shaft coupling and mounting patterns are compatible with 8 servo motor series from 5 manufacturers. Manufacturers include Mitsubishi, Yaskawa, Sanyo Denki, Omron, and Panasonic.
