The EQ series of electric actuators feature high performance motors with integrated controllers, as well as battery-less absolute encoders. Not all applications require the 64 positions and finely tuned speed and acceleration / deceleration curves available from JXC controllers. Instead, EQ integrated controllers offer a simpler 2-position solenoid mode with continuous travel from origin to the opposite end of the stroke. A closed center mode can also be set with an intermediate position. Motor enclosures include 3 communication LEDs and M12 metal cable connectors. Motor control optimization helps achieve up to 60% CO2 emissions.
SMC has introduced a line of actuators driven by 24VDC step motors fitted with battery-less absolute encoders. An absolute encoder offers position data upon power-on, avoiding the homing routine an incremental encoder requires. Our battery-less absolute encoder pairs orientation sensors with differently sized rotating wheels to enable position detection. This electro-mechanical design eliminates the battery and its accompanying import and disposal restrictions common to traditional absolute encoders. A battery-less solution is also free of memory retention limits from extended power-off situations.
Rodless type electric actuator features a load mounting platform situated above a ball screw drive or belt drive. Ball screw type advantages are better positioning repeatability than belt drives. Belt drive provides a more economical offering.
Similar to the Slider type except utilizes an AC servo motor instead of a DC type. The AC servo motor enables higher speed and acceleration, as well as improved vertical load capability. Optional drivers include pulse input and various communication protocols including Ethernet. Encoders range from 17 to 22-bit resolution, depending on motor selection.
The rod type electric actuator has a familiar rod cylinder form suitable for push, pull, lift and press applications. The guide rod type includes rods to counter rotational forces instead of the drive and motor, and also resist shock and sustained lateral loads.
Similar to the Rod and Guided Rod type except utilizes an AC servo motor instead of a DC type. The AC servo motor enables higher speed and acceleration, as well as improved vertical load capability. The drivers are pulse input type, with both incremental and absolute encoder options and 17- or 18-bit resolution.
LES and LESH integrate a work table, linear guide and a motor driven linear ball screw. The work table offers top and front load mounting surfaces. Underneath, the linear guide maintains positional accuracy and supports moment loading.
The LESYH is a high precision variation of the LESH high rigidity slide table. This actuator improves positioning repeatability to ±0.01 and increases vertical work load dramatically compared to the LESH. The external motor can be mounted inline with the table, or in parallel to the left or right.
Rotary electric actuators feature a rotating worktable positioned above an enclosure for the motor and drivetrain. Three different motor/table sizes are available, with each size offering a basic and high torque variation. Additionally, each size offers four rotating angle options, including 90°, 180°, 310 / 320°, and continuously rotating.
SMC electric gripper series includes three series (LEHZ, LEHZJ and LEHF) fitted with two fingers. LEHS is available with three fingers. Dust covers, low profile fingers and long stroke options are some of the series options. The 3 finger type is ideal for holding round work pieces. Benefits of electric grippers include adjustable gripping forces, a drop prevention function, and capability for recognizing different dimensions and outputting length measurements.
The LEP family of mini electric actuators includes a rod type and a slide table type. Each mini electric actuator design is built around the same motors, drives and bodies. Each model is lightweight, less than 1-1/2 lb, and compact enough to fit in the palm of your hand. The LAT3 Card Motor miniature electric actuator is about the size of a credit card and is only 9mm high. Positioning repeatability is ±5 μm, with an operating rate of up to 500 cycles per minute.
Controllers and drivers needed for our electric actuator family. You will find step motor, servo motor and card motor controllers as well as 24VDC Fieldbus gateway units and AC servo drivers.
The LEF series slider type electric actuator features a low profile height of 46mm (LEF16). The actuator's main body can be mounted without removing any exterior components, such as the cover, making installation easy. The standard equipped seal band covers the guide, ball screw and belt, preventing grease and external foreign matter from splashing and entering the LEF. There are 2 types of drivers available, ball screw or timing belt. Available motors include servo motor ball screw drive or step motor belt drive. When the LEF is ordered with the controller, initial data of the actuator is preset in the controller allowing start-up in a short time with the "easy mode".
