    A rodless cylinder with mechanical joining differs from a basic air cylinder in that no piston rod extends outside the cylinder body.  Instead, the internal piston is connected to an external carriage.  SMC's rodless cylinders are ideal for long stroke applications because they are unaffected by rod overhang, bending, piston binding, and uneven seal wear, and for use in confined areas where space is a premium.

    The 25A- series variations are designed using material compatible with secondary battery applications and are able to be used in low dew point environments.  The variations eliminate copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) material where possible, making them compatible with secondary battery manufacturing for electronics, automotive, and other vehicle types.

  • Rodless Cylinder, 25A-MY3M, Mechanically Jointed with Low/High Shock Absorber - Slide Bearing

    The MY3* Rodless Cylinders have a one-piece carriage and piston that runs its entire stroke length housed with an inner seal belt to maintain air pressure combined with an outer dust seal band to protect from contaminants.  This design offers a compact footprint compared to rod-style cylinders and features a low profile. The integrated slide bearing internal guide provides lateral stability protecting it from side load impacts. Air cushions are standard and external shock absorbers are optional.
