SMC's series CA2-Z air cylinder is 15% lighter than the existing CA2 cylinder. Fine adjustment is now possible due to the increase in the air cushion adjustment range. The CA2-Z can now be ordered with rod end or pivot brackets, and mounting dimensions are the same as the existing CA2.

SY series valves have polarity when the electrical entry is a grommet or L/M plug connector with a surge voltage suppressor (option “S” or “Z”). The red lead wire is positive (+) and the black lead wire is negative (-). SY series plug-in type valves also have polarity when the type with a surge voltage suppressor (option “S,” “Z,” “NS,” or “NZ”) is selected.

Since the mounting holes of MK-Z series cylinders are common to both through-hole and both ends tapped types, if the cylinder to be replaced is the MKA (both ends tapped type), the mounting bolt must be lengthened taking the dimensions of the counterbore hole of the new MK-Z series cylinder into consideration.
Refer to the “Replacement of seals” section in the CA2-Z series operation manual. It can be found by going to “Documents/Download” and then “Operation Manuals” on the SMC website. From there, find the CA2-Z series operation manual and download it.
It was replaced with the CM2-Z series. Production of the CM series seal kit has also been terminated. The mounting dimensions of the old CM series and the CM2-Z series are interchangeable, except for some models which can be found here. ①There are 2 types of dust seal bands for MY1 series cylinders (which excludes the MY1B-□Z and MY1H-□Z as well as the MY1B10 and MY1H10). The dust seal band part number differs depending on the treatment of the hexagon socket head set screw located on the top surface of the head covers on both ends. Be sure to confirm the treatment type before proceeding.
For further details, refer to the MGP-Z series’ “Simple Specials System”. Combinations with end locks, clean series, “-XC35,” “-X144,” and other special order products are available as a special order. Contact SMC for further details.
There is no “Z” added to the part number to indicate the refreshed product.
These products were not incorporated into the CG1-Z series (as of February 2018).
CG1Y-Z series smooth cylinders have bi-directional low-friction operation as standard.
The mounting dimensions of CG1Q and CG1Y-Z series products are the same.
Note) The CG1Q series was discontinued in September 2013 and was replaced with the current CG1Y-Z series.
