Use a circuit in which both sides of the piston are balanced by a regulator with a backflow function to prevent cylinder lurching when restarting after a lock stop or when the manual lock is released.

The D-MP series catalog can be found here. The actual alignment is only measured after the cylinder has been installed. However, this is an absolute sensor that maintains the position information even if the cylinder is moved while the power is turned OFF.
