In what year did AF series air filters go through a model change?

The old AF series (2 digits: AF□□) was released in November 2001 and discontinued in December 2014.

The refreshed AF series with 2 digits and an “A” suffix (AF40-□□-A) was released in April 2012. And the new design AF series with 2 digits and a “D” suffix (AF40-□□-D) was released in October 2019.
